Goodness me, you can tell Spring is well and truly here! This is the time of year that I dread the most as I suffer from hay fever terribly, especially throughout September to November. But on the other hand, it is nice to have a few braai’s in the evenings again now, which I do love. As I was walking my little dog last night, on a lovely warm evening, after being in the office all day, I listened to the crickets and the cicadas and remembered how, when we used to go away on holiday, that sound always stood out to me when visiting hot countries. Since moving here from the UK, we are so used to these sounds and often don’t hear them, so it was such a lovely, peaceful reminder of the beautiful country that we are lucky enough to live in.
For those of our readers who haven’t seen the news on our e-newsletters or Facebook and Instagram pages, we raised a staggering R274 000 at this year’s Mum’s Mail High Tea for The Sunflower Fund, which was nearly R60K more than last year! I’d like to say a massive ‘Thank You’ again to everyone who made this event possible, from all of the sponsors – small and large, to the fundraising team and my fabulous team at Mum’s Mail plus the many volunteers who generously gave of their time to help such an amazing charity.
We are now starting to plan the PMB Ladies Breakfast in association with The Sunflower Fund for next year, which will be held in March 2018, so watch this space for more info…
We also have a new website due to launch in November, which we’re extremely excited about, plus a new online ‘gift emporium’, so be on the lookout for more news about that!
Have a wonderful November.
